Lori Burton
Lori Burton is our Front Office Administrator extraordinaire. Her childhood spanned the globe, thanks to her father’s profession as an engineer – traveling to various countries for year-long projects. She was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but grew up in Long Island, New York, before and after living in Africa, Jamaica, and The Philippines as a small child!
Lori came to Virginia to attend Lynchburg College where she earned her degree in Special Education. While in Lynchburg she worked in a group home for special needs women as a residential counselor. She found this work to be very rewarding. In 1986, she moved to Richmond, Virginia where she worked for many years in a Psychiatric Practice, then at an Internal Medicine Practice. While there, she had the privilege to head–up the clinic for substance abuse recovery, which was extremely gratifying. Lori is now very thankful for the opportunity to be a part of our Gait Center team.
Lori’s compassion for patients is evident, and our practice is a much better place with her in our front office. She is the smiling face in the window (behind the mask)…. And the calming voice on the other end of the phone line. She brings years of experience working with both patients and insurance companies, and coordinating with doctors’ offices. Lori helps to get all of our new patients prepared for their first visit, making it a pleasant experience!
Family is very important to Lori, and we at the office have enjoyed watching her become a grandma for the first time!! It’s a boy!! She and her husband have two beautiful grown daughters, and when not planning time with the family Lori enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time on the water.
